Strong Enemies

What enemy has engulfed you like a mighty river? Are you drowning in a river of: What might have been, hopelessness, temptation, addiction, loneliness, fear, betrayal, jealousy, guilt or sin?

Hear our Father’s Word to you. He will deliver you from your strong enemy. He is your deliverer. Cry out as the psalmist did, “Out of my distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free and in a large place.…The Lord is on my side and takes my part, He is among those who help me.…O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever” (Psalm 118:5, 7, 29, AMPC). Whatever enemy threatens to surround and engulf you today, remember to call on your Father through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Prayer for the Day

Reach from on high, Father. Draw me out of the many waters that threaten to overwhelm me. I know You will deliver me from my strong enemy and from those who hate and abhor me, for they are too strong for me. You are on my side; You take up my cause. I give thanks to You, for You are good! In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
