UnknownSample
When God calls us into the unknown, it takes great humility and faith to prepare for the journey ahead. We can’t control what tomorrow will bring, but we can trust God will always meet our needs.
The Christmas season can be filled with a lot of unknowns. Some might wonder if they will have enough financial means to buy gifts for their children, friends, and other family members. For others, work might be a barrier that keeps them from traveling home to spend Christmas with family, or there may be a health situation they are facing.
As we look at the Christmas story and dive deeper, we see a lot of unknowns for some of the very people to who the Christmas story rests. For Mary, it was the unknown of how she would carry her child in the society where she lived. For God’s people, it’s the unknown of when the Messiah would finally come to save them. For the wise men, it was the thought of meeting the Messiah the prophet wrote and spoke about.
While there are so many unknowns in the story, we find in common that they trusted and believed that God would do what He said. In the same way, God is faithful to meet our needs and walk with us through our season of unknowns.
Sometimes, we act so confidently in what we think we know and do, but what happens if we need more than our confidence and trust God’s guidance instead? For each of these people, that is what they needed and what God gave them.
Over the next five days, we will take a deeper look into the Christmas story and how God made it known.
