Bible in a Year

DAY 128 OF 365

It’s important to note that the order of the books in our current Bible are not necessarily in chronological order. Nehemiah, the book you’ll start today, is the last historical account of the Old Testament. Following Nehemiah chronologically is the intertestamental period. Here are some more facts about Nehemiah:

-Nehemiah is a personal contemporary of Ezra, returning to Jerusalem to rebuild the city, specifically the wall surrounding it so that the Jews might be able to defend themselves while they rebuild the temple.

-Nehemiah sees total restoration of Judea: everything they lost is returned by God, and they await the coming of their Messiah King.
