DAY 17 OF 21

DAY 17: Taking Ownership of Your Destiny

Today I want to talk to you about taking ownership of your dreams and positioning yourself firmly so no one can rob you of your destiny.

It’s one thing to know your purpose. It’s another to take ownership of it. Ownership means more than accepting your fate – it means taking active responsibility for making it happen. This step is a powerful – and yes, potentially scary step.

Owning your purpose empowers you to step into the greatness God has planned for you 100%. It allows you to concentrate on being more than a conqueror and to fully open yourself to God’s love for you and His desire to see you pursue your passion. It positions you to take a stand for who you are despite your circumstances, overriding the need to have your dream accepted by others.

It’s time to step up and let go of your doubts, to accept yourself AND the destiny God has called you to, and not to waver from that path regardless of others’ thoughts or attitudes toward your purpose. This dream is yours. Take ownership of it and vow not to let others’ opinions of you rob your success. Joseph did this very thing when it came to his brothers. We read when he took ownership of his destiny, he told them, “because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.” (Genesis 45:5)

Takeaway: Ownership means more than accepting your circumstances – it means taking active responsibility for making your purpose happen.

Challenge yourself: Think about any relationships that do not support your purpose and how someone with ownership of their purpose might address those issues. Write down one practical change you can make in these relationships to demonstrate ownership of your purpose.

Question to consider: What does taking ownership of your purpose mean to you?
