DAY 19: Elevate Your Environment

We have discussed the elements of relationships and resources in pursuing your purpose. Now you need to stretch yourself one step further and ensure your entire environment supports your success.

Is anything else in your environment besides relationships or resources that could be preventing you from reaching your goals? If so, you need to apply the concept of being more than a conqueror to this area. Think about what’s missing or interfering with your goals or purpose. Think about what needs to change and how you can make those changes.

Environments can be powerful motivators or powerful obstacles. An environment that doesn’t serve your purpose can generate a lot of friction to prevent you from moving forward. Changing your environment can be a daunting task, especially if you have issues around attachment and insecurity. We often fill our lives with possessions, situations, and other things that whisper promises of love, status, influence, or security in our ears. In the end, all you need is your faith in God. If you ask, He will listen, and He will provide what you need when you need it. Everything else is either an extra benefit along the way or an active hindrance to your success.

Takeaway: An environment that doesn’t serve your purpose can generate a lot of friction to prevent you from moving forward. Ask God, and He will bring you what you need.

Challenge yourself: Take one final mental inventory. If there is anything left in your environment that may be hindering your purpose, write it down on a separate sheet of paper. If you have changes to make, commit to making them, then tear up that paper and refuse to look back.

Question to consider: What would change for you if you believed 100% that God will provide anything and everything you need when you need it (even though that may mean not getting everything you think you need)?
