AN EQUIPPED LIFE
READ
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”—Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)
REFLECT
Do you realize a battle is going on, even though you might not be able to see it? It’s likely you’ve felt it more intensely over the last two weeks during your fast. It’s a spiritual battle, and your enemy wants to distract, discourage, and ultimately destroy you. Thankfully, you’re not alone in this war. Jesus has given you everything you need to stand firm—the full armor of God.
Today, go back and read Ephesians 6:13–17. As you read about each element of the armor, stand up and “put” that piece of armor on. Remember today that whatever you face, you’re fully equipped to withstand it and live victoriously through Jesus!
PRAY
Father, thank You for Your full armor. You have equipped me with everything I need to stand firm, live free, and bring glory and honor to Your Name. Thank You for protecting me and fighting for me in everything. Lord, I pray You would help me to remember this truth as I face whatever challenges come my way. Amen.
FOR THE FAMILY
DISCUSS
- Why do soldiers need to put on armor to fight in battle?
- What kind of armor should we put on to fight against the sin and darkness of the world with Jesus?
PRAY
Father, thank You for Your full armor. You give us all we need to stand firm, to live free, and to worship You. Thank You for protecting me and fighting for me in everything. I pray, dear Lord, that You would help me to remember this truth as I face whatever challenges come my way. Amen.
