Year of the Bible: Part Two of Twelve Sample
The Right Thing at the Wrong Time.
The right thing at the wrong time is still the wrong thing, but God doesn't waste anything. Moses was likely wrong in taking matters into his hands by killing the Egyptian abusing his Hebrew brothers.
When it became apparent to Moses that people knew about his act of murder, he became afraid and fled to the desert. When Moses arrived there, he immediately stepped into his divine call to be a deliverer by rescuing a group of women from angry shepherds.
Moses learned how to live and thrive in harsh conditions during the next forty years. God equipped Moses there for his future leadership role as Israel's deliverer. Moses was fleeing punishment and powerfully met God. It was there, in the desert, in a place of lack, where God chose to provide for Moses and train him for his crucial assignment.
Question: Do you avoid going to difficult places in your life? Have you ever considered that God may be inviting you there because he wants to provide for you there and equip you for a future assignment?
Prayer Focus: Life should have a subtitle that reads, "Courage required." God's word says, "those who look to the Lord are radiant, and their faces are never covered with shame." Look to the Lord and ask Him for the courage to step into the hard places with Him and receive the strength He is willing to give you for the journey through that place.
