Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "This Is Living"Sample

When we make mistakes, we want others to forgive our wrongdoings. But when it is our turn to forgive others, it may feel like a burden. Especially when we feel that we didn’t do anything wrong. It would be even harder to extend forgiveness to those who have hurt us.

Today, the Word of God teaches us to forgive. Like Steven who did nothing wrong, he even dedicated his life to doing good, was being stoned to death by those who hated him. It would be reasonable for Steven not to forgive those people. However, the Word of God says that with his last breath, Steven forgave them regardless.

Can you imagine being in his shoes? Not easy. How could he forgive? He relied on the Holy Spirit in Him that enabled him to forgive those who hurt him.

Similarly, when we are in the position to forgive someone, know that we are incapable of doing so on our own. We need the Holy Spirit to help us. Remember, God forgives, even when we are still sinners and when we hurt Him.
