Returning to the Gospels

DAY 4 OF 5

Are you still willing to continue no matter what?

If we live according to God's will and as citizens of his kingdom, we will soon realize that there is a continuous conflict between that way of living and the ways of this world.

Many people may not understand your principles, your character, your sacrifice and your service. They may say that your way of life is old-fashioned and irrelevant, but this should not discourage you.

All the characteristics Jesus claims as "blessed" in the sermon on the mount are generally not well received by this world: living in a pure way, depending on God rather than our own strength, living for a greater purpose and being generous. But standing firm is worth it when we remember that our life is only a small period of time compared to eternity.

Jesus said that in the end times we would face enormous challenges, and that only those steadfast in the faith would remain until the end.

If we decide to return to the Gospels, we must ask ourselves if we are willing to continue to stand firm in the faith, to say no to that which does not edify us.

I encourage you to continue living according to the gospel, to continue aligning your way of thinking with Scripture.

Let us not forget that his Word continues to be relevant to our families, our finances, our endeavors and our future.

God has a better way of living than what the world offers us. Keep moving forward despite the missteps, don't stop; keep moving forward until you reach the destination that God has prepared for you.

Prayer: Lord, help me to remain steadfast in faith in spite of challenges. Lift my head up and strengthen my heart, to keep going and persevere to the end. Help me make a difference. Amen.
