Advent: Catholic ReflectionsSample

Our Advent journey continues, and as we come towards the end of the first week, we begin to see a deepening of our faith as we allow God's Spirit to work through us ever more deeply. We continue to pray for more faith and to be ever more ready to greet Christ as we prepare to celebrate the great feast of Christmas.
Our Bible readings today remind us to "open our eyes" to the Lord and that, through the Lord, even the "blind will see." The rewards of faith should not be underestimated. However, they are so strikingly different to worldly rewards, it takes faith to truly recognize and see them. If our faith is truly alive and active, then we will not be able to stop ourselves from sharing the joy that comes from being a true believer of Jesus Christ.
Perhaps take some time to list for yourself the rewards of faith and put yourself in situations where you will have the opportunity to share your faith with others.

About this Plan

Advent is, of course, a time to prepare. To prepare our homes, lives, and our hearts. Join us as we explore the Bible readings used by the Church to challenge, encourage, and help us prepare, not only to celebrate the incarnation but also the second coming of Christ.
