Be Still: 15 More Days With GodSample

CAST YOUR CARES
…casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 PETER 5:7
Our cares draw us in different directions, distracting us or keeping us caught up in unreasonable concerns. These cares can take our focus off of what God is capable of doing in any situation. They put our focus on ourselves and our problems, blinding us to all of His wonderful possibilities and purposes. They are tantamount to replacing God, moving Him off the throne, and attempting to control what I have no wisdom for.
These cares and worries cause us to panic and jump into the driver’s seat to call the shots! The downside is we can’t handle the complexities of this world, our flesh, and the devil!
We are much better off casting those cares on Him and not walking in pride. God cares for us and does not expect us to walk in our own wisdom or our own strength. He wants us to lean upon Him and not on our own understanding, dependent upon Him. Walk in simplicity and devotion to Jesus Christ, for He is more than able!
From Clothed in Humility, 1 Peter 5:5-7

About this Plan

"Be still, and know that I am God;" (PSALM 46:10a). Many Christians are familiar with this verse, but do we really understand it? This exhortation applies when we are distracted by our successes, as when we are fearful and disquieted by some troublesome news. We must learn to quiet ourselves by opening God’s Word and gaining His perspective in both cases.
