Royals Part II: Divided KingdomSample

Royals Part II: Divided Kingdom

DAY 18 OF 21

Evil at the Border

Jehoram’s reign is in complete contrast to his father’s reign. While his father honoured the Lord and saw God do incredible things, Jehoram turned from the Lord and received his due judgement. Both of them faced invasion during their reign, the only difference was that Jehoshaphat relied on his relationship with the Lord.

What happens here in a physical way is true for us today in a spiritual way. We constantly have an enemy at the border looking for a way in. The only thing holding him back is God.

Evil, suffering and trials will always be part of life; the only choice we have is whether we face them on our own or with God on our side. When we put our trust in God, he will carry us through to victory over every situation. Victory may not look the same as what we thought it did, but we can trust that if God is for us nothing, can stand against us.

Nowhere is this more evident than in Jesus, who put his trust in his Father, right up to the cross. Jesus went through incredible suffering, but it ended in the greatest victory of all time.

Thought Point

Where would you be today without God?

Prayer Point

Ask God to give you the faith and confidence to trust Him, no matter how dark things get.

About this Plan

Royals Part II: Divided Kingdom

Tales of triumph and tragedy are seen in the books of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles. The history of Kings of Israel and Judah is a story of divine faithfulness despite human failure. These flawed rulers point us towards the one true faithful King. Part II covers Rehoboam through to Joash from Judah and Ahab from Israel.
