Do the Impossible

Disney has a team of people dedicated to making the impossible possible. They’re called Imagineers. The purpose of the Imagineers was to help Walt Disney make his vision a reality in this world. That is just like our role. Our purpose is to make God’s vision for this world a reality.

Walt Disney couldn’t have created everything on his own. He needed Imagineers. But God? God could simply do it all if he wanted. He’s proven that already. But God wants us to be a part of his engineering design team. He wants us to be part of his innovative solutions and dynamic experiences. He wants us to share the joy of seeing people discover wonder and hope.

God could have just accomplished everything on his own, but he chose to employ us. He loves working together as a team. Throughout the Bible, God invites small bands of people into his grand vision. After Jesus rose from the grave, he gathered his followers, painted a picture in their minds of what they could do, gave them his Spirit, and commissioned them. “All over the world, for generations, I will empower you to be my witnesses,” he told them, “I want you

to make this world into the beautiful place of life and wonder that I created it to be.” See Acts 1:1–11, 2:1–21; Matthew 28:18–20.

We can strive all we want to in our own power. We can accumulate as much stuff as we can get our arms and credit cards around. We can get all the social media likes and reposts. We can try to work hard and acquire all the fancy brands of shoes and cars. But on our own—no matter how much we try to spin it—it will only just be…okay.

Not the best.

So, don’t settle.

It’s time to imaginate with God.
