Fear Fighting In The New YearSample
"Freedom"
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). Period. Expect it. Believe in it. Abide with God and He will lead you, to the day where you notice that, instead of your usual trudging, you are actually walking. You will see a new path emerge.
You notice that you feel released from your heaviness. So you quicken your pace. You observe the rocks and take notice of every threat to your balance. And this time you don’t waver and you don’t back down. You step over the rocks and make your way around them. Even in those off times when you do lose your balance, you regain it, knowing that the journey is not about the absence of rocks but about God’s great power to lift you over them.
You run…to be more like Him.
You sprint…to be where He is.
You let go…shedding the weight that has kept you slow.
You anticipate…knowing the living water you are heading to consumes all suffering in the end.
You press on. Until there you stand, doused, drenched, and delivered. Until you find you are wading, looking straight up into His ever-pouring waterfall of love. And you remember her—you—the free one. The dancing one. The revived one. You don’t worry so much about looming storms or people. No, you see the air, the tides, and the rocks as beautiful Presence instead of risky propositions. Peace settles. Daddy is with you. You grab His hand. You hear His voice of love. You trust Him and you feel alive. Rescued. Delivered.

About this Plan
We all live with fear. It hangs around, whispering in our ears, reminding us of all we can't do or will never be. But that's not the end of the story. We also have a God who draws close to say, Fear not. I am with you. This Spirit transforms us into fear fighters. Get started on your journey to being a fear fighter in this new year.
