Shield of Faith: Devotions for Military FamiliesSample
Overcoming Victory
Military training is about being ready to be victorious in any battle or conflict. Everyone wants to be victorious. It’s pretty much ingrained in our nature from the beginning of life. We want to come out on top. But the world’s definition of victory differs from ours, or at least it should be different. If you have placed your faith in Christ, you are already promised victory in your life because of your faith. That means you can overcome whatever trial or difficulty comes into your life through faith in the one who loves you and gives himself for you. God wants you to glorify him with your life by being victorious over any sin that keeps you from accomplishing his will. Is there an area of your life over which you need victory? You can stand confident in what Christ has done for you and move forward in whatever area is holding you back. Being faithful to reading God’s Word and communicating with him in prayer will help you know what steps to take to be victorious.
Dear God, thank you for making it possible for me to have victory in my life. Please help me take the steps necessary to move forward for you.
