Exclusive Drop (A Series on Identity)Sample
Picture it, that classic story. You stand "relaxed" on the squeaky gym floor and stare at the P.E. captains with "cool" and "uncaring" eyes. You act like you’re unbothered. But, behind those eyes, your mind is screaming, "PICK ME! PICK ME!" In high school, I constantly got picked last for P.E. since I did not play sports. I wanted to because all my friends played sports, but no game ever clicked with me. So, I never got on my friends' sports teams. Of course, this made me feel alone and ashamed of who I was. But, one day, my school introduced a new after-school activity: theatre. And I fell in love. After that, my peers raced to the gym, and I danced to theatre class. As classmates practiced layups, I rehearsed mesmerizing songs and blocking. Instantly, I knew theatre was God's plan for my life. And now, I’m proudly studying theatre in Los Angeles. It's easy to feel alone in life, and that loneliness can make you feel ashamed of who you are, but God has fearfully, wonderfully, and uniquely made every one of us. Today, don't be the last one to recognize your uniqueness. Breathe in, pat yourself on the back, and thank God for making you who you are.
