Plot TwistSample

Imagine you have to say goodbye to your best friend. Before your friend leaves, they give you a very special gift that represents special memories. Maybe it's a ticket stub from your favorite band's concert or an embarrassing photo! You treasure that gift because it is connected to a relationship that means so much to you. How would you feel if this special gift gets lost, goes missing, or is misplaced? You would probably feel sad, heartbroken, and disappointed. Maybe you would describe having an "empty" feeling.
That empty feeling is what it's like to be brokenhearted. Emptiness can make us turn to things that will ultimately leave us in a more vulnerable position. But when we feel empty, alone, or sad, God is still close to us. By offering comfort and reminding us that we aren’t alone, we are offered the hope that one day it will get better — one day at a time.
How can you trust God to help you as you face losing something you care about?

About this Plan

Whether it’s your favorite movie, book, or reality show, you know there's nothing like a good plot twist! A plot twist can make us rethink everything we thought we knew about the story. In this 30-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, designed for Lent we’ll focus on how Jesus experienced “life-plot twists” and how he is with us when we go through unexpected moments in our life.
