Everyone likes to win. For those who train, discipline themselves, and practice numerous times to gain mastery, victory is sweet and glorious. Athletes know the "gain without pain" mantra. Students know the joy from hours in study and the rewards that follow. Anyone who desires the reward of eternal life and to be in heaven with redeemed loved ones must have this. To be with Jesus, our resurrected Savior, and in his presence forever needs this. The victory for our eternal life depends on this divine proclamation Jesus gave to his disciples after explaining the difficult times ahead.
Prayer: Jesus, teach us how to stand firm. Help us to be faithful to you. Fill us with power and whatever it takes to make it the end of our lives and make it into the gates of heaven. You are the Victor and we follow your ways. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
