Vision: Seeing Life God's Way

DAY 5 OF 5

You Have Been Set Apart

When we have God's vision, we don't think as the world thinks. We don't talk like it or operate in world norms anymore. We work on a higher level because we are set apart.

Romans 12:2 says Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. We continually seek God's vision for our lives, and it allows us to see above the fray.

This doesn't mean walking out his vision for us will be easy; on the contrary, it will most likely be the hardest thing you have ever done. But when we rest in his plans for us, we grow in our understanding that God has set us apart for his purposes, callings, and assignments for our lives.

What a privilege!

Continually Seek Him

Walking out God's assignments to build his Kingdom on earth is done by keeping our focus on him. We get off kilter when we start looking to anything else as our Provider: jobs, bank accounts, or people, to name a few. To continue having his vision, it is essential to continually draw near to the Father through prayer and worship.

These are just two of the many things we can do to keep in communion with him, strengthening our relationship with the Creator. They also help us learn to hear his voice better, so we will know each step as he gives it to us. It is impossible to know God's vision if you aren't working on your relationship with him. Relationship with him gives way to vision, wisdom, and understanding.

Reevaluate Periodically

A final note: once you understand God's plans for you are good, and you are continually seeking him for his vision, check to make sure you are still on track every once in a while.

You can easily get lost without checking in with God and asking where he would like you to go next. We get distracted by shiny, worldly things. We can even go in the wrong direction when we lean on earthly wisdom or people to guide us.

Looking at things God's way will be the ride of your life. Get excited, hold onto your hat, and take the first step! Your purpose is waiting.

Questions: Where are you getting distracted by the world? What area do you know you need to give to God to handle? Where are you trusting earthly systems or people instead of the Lord?

Prayer: Father, thank you for freeing me from the systems of the world! Thank you for showing me that I can trust your plans, that you are my sole Provider, and that you have a vision for my life. Help me continually seek you so that I understand each step, and give me the courage and boldness to walk it out. In Jesus' name, amen.
