Worship Team DevosSample
Scripture
Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming allegiance to His name. Hebrews 13:15
Summary
We aren't supposed to praise God only when we're at church. We aren't supposed to praise Him only when we're on stage or around other Christians. We should praise God at all times. This verse says that we should offer a CONTINUAL sacrifice of praise. Continual praise pleases God. We should acknowledge Him when we wake up. When we eat our first meal. When something good happens. When something bad happens. When we get paid. When we get fired. With our last thought before we drift off to sleep; "Thank you Lord, for all you've done for me today." God gives us life and everything that we have. Every second of the day is a gift from Him. In return, let us give every second of the day back to Him in praise, acknowledging Him at all times and in all things. He is worthy of this.
Discussion Questions
1. When is it easiest for you to think about and acknowledge God?
2. When (or where) are you least likely to praise and acknowledge God?
3. Why is it easier to think about and acknowledge God when we're at church?
4. How can we carry this posture of praise into other areas and venues of our life?
5. Any other thoughts, comments, ideas or questions you'd like to share?
Closing Prayer
God, help us to acknowledge You and praise You at all times. In the good and the bad. In the morning and the evening. At church and at work. With friends and with strangers. May we offer a continual sacrifice of praise to You who gives us everything. Help us, by your Spirit. In Jesus' name. Amen!
