KIDS: 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer

DAY 4 OF 21

READ: In Christ, we are . . .

Forgiven and Pure. 1 John 1:9 (NIV) says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.“

Chosen. Royal. Holy. 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV) says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Treasured. Deuteronomy 14:2 (NIV) says, ”For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.”

A Masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Righteous. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV) says, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Precious (Isaiah 43:4).

Salt, light, and a city on a hill (Matthew 5:13–16)

Loved (John 3:16).

Free (John 8:36).

Family members (John 15:5).

His Friends (John 15:15).

Justified (Romans 3:24).

Heirs and coheirs with Christ (Romans 8:17)!

More than conquerors (Romans 8:37)

God’s temple (1 Corinthians 3:16)

Secure (2 Corinthians 1:22)

A new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

God’s ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20).

Blessed, chosen, adopted, redeemed, grace-lavished, unconditionally loved, accepted, and blameless (Ephesians 1).

Citizens of Heaven (Philippians 3:20).

Children of God through faith (Galatians 3:26)

Reflect on this list and what it means for your life daily.

RESPOND: It’s incredible to think that every single one of the things listed above applies to us, even on our worst days. This also means they apply to everyone around you as well. So, with that in mind, I challenge you to encourage someone with some of the words on this list. Maybe your mom, dad, or teacher is having a hard day and needs to be reminded of who they are in Jesus. That is a great opportunity to pull out this list (you should write it down in a notebook or a journal) and read it or hand it to them to encourage their heart.

PRAY:

Dear God, thank You for calling me every single one of the things on this list. Help me to remember what You say about me when I forget or lose sight of what You have said. Also, help me be a light and remind others who they are in You. Help me to remember that no matter what I do in this life, my identity will be only found in You. Amen.
