Acts: Go & Be Chapters 19-28Sample

Acts: Go & Be Chapters 19-28

DAY 16 OF 20

What is this passage saying?

Paul is now in front of King Agrippa and has the opportunity to speak to him as he tries to convince him of the hope that is found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul is pleading his case before him. He shares his testimony about how he was out to persecute The Way movement, and then Jesus radically transformed his life. Paul is now on mission for Jesus, sharing the good news everywhere he goes. Even in chains, he is still on mission for the Lord Jesus Christ. King Agrippa hears his case. Paul tries to convince him that he, too, could be saved along with everyone in the audience. At the end of this chapter, King Agrippa gets up with the governor and his sister and claims that Paul has done nothing wrong and could have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.

What is this passage teaching?

The Gospel is truly the only thing that can transform hearts. There is power in the testimony of Paul’s transformation of heart. Paul tells King Agrippa of the life-transforming power of the Gospel. Paul used to be a persecutor of Christians. He sought out death for all those proclaiming Jesus. Jesus met Paul one day on his way to Damascus. When Paul met Jesus there that day, he was radically transformed. Paul now spends the rest of his life proclaiming this life-transforming news. He is living on mission for the Lord. When God transforms a life, there is no turning back. He has begun a good work in that person and will be faithful to complete that work until Jesus

returns. God is working in Paul to accomplish His purposes for Paul to get to the highest Roman officials by testifying about the Good News.

How do I respond?

God always remains faithful to His people, and His purposes are always to show people the transforming grace of the Gospel. Go today and have peace that God is still working all things out for your good. He has begun a work in you and will be faithful to complete it. Even when you don’t understand the trials and obstacles you face, and it doesn’t make sense, God still remains faithful.
