Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 4Sample

So Jesus had just got back to his own town when some people brought a paralyzed man to him. When Jesus said that this man’s sins were forgiven, the scribes began saying among themselves that He is blaspheming.
Jesus then follows with a statement about His authority and heals the man.
In today’s society, the word authority is often viewed as something negative. A lot of people even associate authority with oppression or fear.
But Jesus displays a different type of authority. Jesus displays authority that is given to Him by God to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth. A new way of rulership.
Jesus does not use his authority to oppress or control, but he uses it to restore and heal. And Jesus did not just show a different authority. He started a movement where authority is used to serve and love others.
Humans were created in God's image. We were created with authority. And thank God, through Jesus, authority is now restored back to what it was created to be. So, align your authority with Jesus. Serve, heal, protect, love.
