Enjoying Your Walk With GodSample
But I Thought the Christian life was Supposed to be Straight-Laced, Sober, and Sad.
In life, we often anticipate and form mental pictures of what we believe things will be like. It could be a six-year-old thinking about starting school. Or a dream vacation filled with expectations and excitement. We do not like to experience disappointment.
For some, entering into a deeper walk with God comes with an expectation of what that may be like. And sometimes that expectation is not good. Musician John Schlitt talks about the excitement of following God.
Listen to John...
How do you view the Christian life? Is it with excitement and anticipation like going on a dream vacation? Or is it more like the routine of daily chores which we do without emotion? The God of the universe wants to connect with you. He wants you to enjoy your walk with Him by the power of the Holy Spirit.
In this ten-day Bible plan, we will take you on a journey to help you understand how to better enjoy your walk with God.
These ideas are from a book by Steve Douglass called "Enjoying Your Walk with God." Many have seen their lives changed by the ideas from this book. Our prayer is that you will experience a small taste of that by going through this plan. Steve, who recently left this earth for heaven, would be glad you found it helpful. We want you to experience the abundant life God promised.
Application Questions:
- What is an example of something that you look forward to with anticipation?
- How would you view the Christian life right now? Do you lean toward the side of excitement or the other side of feeling bored with the routine?

About this Plan
Put LIFE back into your Christian walk. Paul didn't say "be bored in the Lord." Samuel didn't write "my heart yawns in the Lord." But yet we often live like this. Christians settle for much less than God intended in their walk with Him. No matter your circumstance, God wants you to experience the joy, fulfillment, and excitement that He offers. This 10-day plan features short audio snippets.
