Day 4 – Climbing Up: Gaining Spiritual Elevation
If we are to hear what God is saying over this generation and his people, we need to position ourselves in a way that minimizes distraction and tunes our ear to His voice. When we position ourselves in ways others are not positioned, we can also hear things from God that others cannot hear! Habakkuk referred to it as climbing up to his “watchtower.” While we do not utilize ancient watchtowers these days, there are ways we can achieve a similar vantage point and spiritual perspective in our lives that is “above” the chaos and noise of this age.
Making time in the secret place and setting aside time for Him, preparing a designated place free of distractions, the practice of fasting, eliminating the noise of social media, and journaling are great ways to climb up to our spiritual “watchtower” to hear His voice and see what God sees.
If we are to be effective in stewarding revival, we cannot give away what we have not received from the Lord. So, make space to hear His voice! In that space, you’ll receive His insight and clarity of vision, and then you can pour that back into the community He has entrusted you with.

About this Plan
For generations, the global church has been asking God to bring revival. In this 8-day Bible Plan from his book “In Our Day,” Pastor Dave Patterson will address the God-given cry for God to do MORE in our churches and cities. We cannot manipulate or manufacture a move of God, but we can position ourselves to participate in what He is doing today. Let’s posture ourselves to be in the middle of His move and ask the Lord to “DO IT IN OUR DAY!” —Dave Patterson
