Welcome to day 1 of your Power For Life journey! Before reading today, take a moment to pray and invite God to speak to you through His Word. Each day you will read one chapter from the New Testament and one chapter from the Psalms. The activity each day will focus in on one of the readings specifically. Then, as you read Psalm 1, take a few moments to imagine the scene described in the Psalm. Imagine the environment, the sounds, the tree, the gentle breeze rustling the leaves, and the beautiful fruit that fills the tree. Let your imagination paint the picture clearly as if you are seeing a movie in your mind. Sit and enjoy the image the Psalmist provides. As the writer describes this fruit-filled life produced from a focus on God's Word, reflect for a moment on your own life. Are there parts of this scene that you desire in your own life? Possibly the peace, the serenity, or the growth? Describe the scene that you imagined, and your thoughts of reflection by using the Notes feature in the YouVersion App. If you are doing this plan with friends, use the Talk It Over feature to share your thoughts with the group.

Tips for using this plan in a group: (optional)

A small group can use this plan to form a Power Hour Bible Reading Group. The Power Hour Bible Reading Group is designed to bring encouragement, accountability, and excitement to your study of God's Word. To set up a group, select "Start Plan," then click "Read with Friends." Next, select the start date and invite friends. Finally, use the "Talk It Over" feature to share your thoughts with the group. Meet once a week and discuss the Power Hour Questions: 1. How is it with your soul? Move beyond "I'm fine." Share feelings, joys, fears, struggles, and successes. 2. What Bible verse or passage did God use in your life this week? Share about one primary Bible passage. 3. How can we pray for you? Share prayer requests.
