Heaven Knows Where to Find Life, Pt. 2

Do you think Christ really rose from the grave? There is no denying the power of the resurrection—the moment when death was defeated, and sin lost its power over us. When Jesus rose from the grave, He secured new life for all who believe in Him. That new life is not just a future promise, but a present reality.

We all face death; it is unavoidable. But for those who have put their faith in Christ, death is not the end. It is just a portal into eternity. We are eternal beings. We are forgiven in Christ, and we can be assured that when we die, we will one day be resurrected, just as Christ was. This is our hope as believers in Christ.

In our church, we often hold funerals, but we do not call them funerals. We call them celebrations of life because we know that death is just the beginning of a new life in Christ.

The resurrection is not just a historical event. It is a present reality that we can experience in our lives today. When we put our faith in Christ, we are raised up to new life. We are no longer slaves to our old nature but are set free to live for God’s glory. We can overcome sin and live a life that is pleasing to God.

The angel who announced the resurrection gave proof of its reality. He invited people to see the empty tomb and make a decision of faith based on what they saw. The first witnesses were women. Though women were not regarded as credible witnesses in that culture, God chose them to be the first to declare the message of the resurrection.

The resurrection is a history changer unlike any other, and it demands a response. Like the women, we, too, must make a decision of faith based on the reality of the resurrection. We must place our trust in Christ and allow him to bring us new life. Have you done this? Have you fully trusted in Christ?

Heaven knows what we are looking for. It is found in the cross and the resurrection. In Christ, we have the assurance of forgiveness and the promise of eternal life. We can face challenges with confidence, knowing that we are not alone; God is with us. The resurrection brings hope to all who believe in Christ.
