Strong: The Promise of 1 Peter 5:10 For God’s DaughtersSample
Day 5: Strengthening the Profile of You
One of the ways that the world defines a strong woman is through how self-reliant she is. Despite the appearance of strength that self-reliance may give to others, ultimately, our human frames are feeble, which means they cannot be depended on to get us through our days.
In my walk as a woman, I’ve learned to continually seek God to work on the areas of my inner being where I am weak due to brokenness. God makes us strong when we depend on Him at this level. What’s more, when we are surrounded by a healthy community and family, we will be further strengthened and encouraged in walking in the womanhood that God has designed and assigned to us.
We need strength in the unique role of our womanhood. We are usually spinning multiple plates: motherhood, varying responsibilities, and serving others. When we seek God’s face, we will spin our plates from a place of inner strength and authenticity.
God delights in strengthening your unique individuality. And when He works, He brings together the parts and aspects of your womanhood so that you can present to the world as an individual of solidity and character. The results of His work are so distinguished and beautiful because we are strengthened by a generous measure of His riches in glory. His standards of giving to us are liberal, bountiful, and overflowing.
You become strengthened when your character is refined so that it reflects Christ, but God wants you to function in your gifts and shine in your personality too! When these aspects of your inner womanhood are revealed to you, it will be clear to you and others what it means for you to be in the places and spaces that God has called you to. You will fulfil the roles and responsibilities that God has for you with passion, integrity, and strength.
Not only can we be made strong in God, but we can be strong because of the strength that God provides us. Living in God’s strength makes what is humanly impossible, possible and allows us to regularly see the results of God’s strength in what we put our hands to.
God’s promise to you today is to see you walking in abundant strength so that you know exactly who you are.
Questions for Reflection: Do you find joy in being yourself? Allow God to identify any barriers that have prevented you from doing this.
Remember, God delights in you, His power will allow you to be an internally strong woman. Through Him, you can be yourself, do what He wants you to do, and fulfill your calling!
