James warns God’s people against the sin of pride. Pride is one of the most condemned sins in the Bible. Pride was the reason Satan was cast down from heaven, and he continues to tempt people with the sin of pride today. The appropriate posture when approaching God is always with humility.
In what areas of your life do you need to walk in humility? We exercise humility when we admit our need for a Savior, when we confess our sins, when we ask for forgiveness, and when we place God and His people first in our lives.
Father God, create in me a servant’s heart that seeks only to please You. Remove any areas of pride in my heart. Lord, keep me humble and willing to serve You and Your people selflessly. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
