Greater Things: Dream Big, Do More.

DAY 4 OF 4

ABOVE AND BEYOND

In Luke 5, a fisherman named Simon had been fishing all night and had nothing to show for it. He was probably exhausted, irritated, and ready for a nap. But then, Jesus showed up and told Simon to cast his nets one more time.

Instead of rolling his eyes or ignoring Him, Simon did what Jesus said. Almost immediately, he caught a massive haul of fish — nearly enough to break the nets and sink two boats!

Jesus could’ve provided just enough for Simon to make it through the week. But instead, He gave Simon more than he’d probably ever dreamed.

Jesus also provided for people in less literal ways. He comforted the hurting, spent time with outcasts, and stood up for the weak. He even commanded us to go above and beyond for people we don’t like (Matthew 5:41).

Sometimes, “even greater” from John 14 looks like doing amazing, impossible things. Other times, it means caring about and serving others. But in everything you do, just like Jesus, never be afraid to do more — including when you give!

Ask yourself: How can I go above and beyond for others this week? How can God’s power in me help me provide for others in ways I haven’t thought of before?

Day 3

About this Plan

Greater Things: Dream Big, Do More.

Jesus did incredible works during His time on earth. And before He left, He said we would do even greater things after He was gone. That’s a huge promise coming from the One who walked on water and healed the blind. But with God, we have the power to change the world — and we can expect Him to have greater things in store for us!
