The Story of My Life - Seeing Yourself in the Life of MosesSample
Humility Before God
Invitation to SELAH
Before you spend time face-to-face with God today, take some time to SELAH (Stop, Exhale, Lean In, Ask & Hear).
Reflect
When was the last time you realized the privilege it is to call yourself a child of God? Moses’ first personal encounter with God started with a call to humble himself. God tells him not to be too quick to approach His presence. He was called to take off his shoes, which in the Ancient Middle East was a sign of humility. Humility is not being prideful; we are humble when we recognize our smallness compared to God and we admit we depend on Him for everything.
Today as you spend time with God, reflect on ways that you can humble yourself before Him. God is drawn toward humility, but He rejects those who approach Him with pride.
