Remember the Power of the Gospel

We preach the gospel at every OUTCRY stop. In the beginning, we had people ask why we would preach at a worship night where the vast majority of people were thought to be Christian already. All we could say was that we believed that there were people coming that weren't following Jesus.

We now see over 10,000 people annually accept Jesus. 10,000 people walk from death to life. From enmity and disconnection from God to adoption as sons and daughters.

Statistics show that as a local church gets older, its evangelistic impact shrinks. This is the gravity of this world on your church or ministry. A natural weight to forget the initial power of the gospel and allow it to grow familiar and powerless in our lives. 

But Jesus is calling us to continually return to the power of the gospel. The gospel brings fresh life and vitality to old ministries. New believers in a church—regardless of age—infect fresh excitement and passion throughout the congregation. 

During today’s reading, remember what Jesus did for you. Pause for a moment to allow God to fill you with fresh revelation. To remind you of the price he paid for you on the cross, and where you stand now because of his grace.
