Advent: The Coming of Jesus Christ

DAY 24 OF 25

DEVOTIONAL

We've lit the four wreath candles; now it's time to light the 5th candle in the middle! Our last candle is called “Jesus' Candle”. This candle is white, which symbolizes His holiness and purity! This candle is all about giving thanks to God for the incredible gift of the Messiah!

ACTIVITY

We recommend you light all five candles, then read the Scripture aloud. Reflect on Jesus' sacrifice for us by coming as an infant and dying for our sins. HE HAS WASHED US AS WHITE AS SNOW! Are you dreaming of a white Christmas? Well, even if you live in Florida, you can have a white Christmas by remembering Psalm 51:7. The whole point of Jesus coming to save us was to make us Holy as He is Holy. To make us pure as He is pure.

Close your eyes and imagine the nativity scene.

Blow each candle out one by one and say the words associated with each one:

"Heavenly Father, we thank you for your HOPE, FAITH, JOY, and PEACE you give us through your Son JESUS."

Spend 5 minutes in your prayer spots and thank Jesus for all He has done for us. Close with family prayer.

Come back together as a family and crank the Christmas music. Enjoy all of the fun and peace that Christ has brought us.
