Real Hope: Identity in ChristSample

In Need Of A Makeover
Have you ever wanted to have a complete makeover? One morning you get up and look in the mirror and admit to yourself you’re looking tired, ragged around the edges and you’ve got bags under your eyes! That old look has to go; it’s not working anymore. New clothes, tick; new hairdo, tick. That’s better. But wait, you say. It’s still the same old me underneath, with the same old attitudes, the same hang-ups and grudges and bitterness and dislikes. If only I could get rid of them and start afresh?
The Apostle Paul tells us that if we are in Christ we are a new creation. By believing in Jesus and accepting Him into our hearts, things begin to change, right from day one. It’s a spiritual spring-clean. The old you is given new life. The makeover comes supercharged with God’s glory.
You stop looking at the old you and start looking at the you who is slowly and steadily growing in the love of Jesus.
You start to notice that your attitudes have changed. When you realise you are loved, accepted, forgiven and redeemed by the God who created the universe, you start seeing things in a new and different light. Where once you were indifferent, now you feel compassion and you find a new love toward family and friends. Your worth is now found, not in the material, but in Christ. It’s time to start growing into who you were meant to be.
Thank you, Lord, that even though I am a work in progress, I can live my new life knowing that I am deeply loved and valued by you. Amen.
