Twenty Five Days of Christmas DevotionsSample

The Bible tells us about four groups of people who heard the news of the coming of Jesus the Messiah. First the wise men, second Herod and his subjects, third the priests and scribes and fourth the shepherds in the field. However, they reacted differently to the news of His arrival.
Herod the ruler and his subjects were disturbed at the news. They were too proud to let go of their power to be ruled by the King of kings. The priests and scribes had scriptural knowledge but no personal interest in seeking Him. Yet we see the foreigners and the lowly shepherds excited and immediately setting out to seek the Lord. When they find Him and worship Him, they are filled with great joy. Jesus is looking for hearts that seek Him sincerely. When you seek Him with all your heart, He will be found by you and your joy will be complete.
