What's the Hurry?Sample

Day 1: Got Priorities?
Let me guess...You have a lot of things to do, don’t you? There’s work, school, kids, deadlines, and sometimes something fun, right? Well, you’re not alone. Most people have plenty of things to take care of, whether it be a priority or not.
OK, you’re late for one of your priorities – Work. You find yourself driving with laser focus, gripping the steering wheel as if your life depended on it. You’re bad-mouthing anyone that dares to get in your way. What if you stopped momentarily to ask yourself, “What’s my hurry?” Is your destination so important that your life actually depends on it? If you are a little late, will you survive the consequences?
In my experience, we tend to make something a priority that is realistically a menial task or chore. The Oxford Dictionary defines priority as “a thing that is regarded as more important than another.” As Christians, our 1st priority should be to please God and Him alone.

About this Plan

Each day, I ask myself, “Why is everyone in such a hurry?” People are so stressed and in a rush that it is obvious our society has forgotten about the truly important things. This devotional is designed to help us refocus and invite Christ back into the center of our lives. When we focus on Him, everything else becomes secondary and a lot less stressful.
