Abundance In The Bush - Country Devotions PART 2Sample

Abundance In The Bush - Country Devotions PART 2

DAY 12 OF 14

Found!

It was a beaut demo of God turning things around for good.

Five cows came in on the final muster. We expected six, but the sixth we found dead - all that was left of her was an empty hide. Wild pig and dingo had feasted. With the five we had yarded, we reckoned that was it. The paddocks were empty. Problem was, one cow was bagged up and we had visions of her calf being taken by a dingo with no mum to protect it.

Strangely, the cow wasn’t anxious about being separated but we let her out just in case. Surely she’d make a beeline back to her planted calf. Surely not! No calf and she was gone. Disappeared. They learn to hide when they know you’re coming.

We kicked ourselves for making the wrong decision. All the cattle were to be trucked out to clear the paddocks and now there was one out there somewhere, on her own. If you’ve ever tried it, you’ll know it’s a challenge to muster one beast. Next day we split up and searched.

“Cooee!” came the call. We’d found her. Not only her though. She’d teamed up with three others we didn’t even know were there. After a wild chase, they were yarded and on their way. Had we not let ‘mum’ out, we’d never have known about the other three.

The head Ringer was pulling our leg that he’d planned it all along, but then he admitted: “Sometimes we can’t see the whole picture but God works through our thoughts. We make decisions which don’t make sense at the time but God sees it all and works in mysterious ways. Trusting in Him in all circumstances is the way to go.” We couldn’t help but acknowledge that God works all things for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Thank You Father that we can trust You for the things we can’t yet see. Thank You for Your rock solid promise to use everything for good in our lives. Amen
