Today’s chapter is filled with exciting miracles filled with wonder, from the feeding of five thousand people to Jesus walking on water! Jesus gets into some problematic teaching in the middle of the chapter. He calls Himself “The bread of life” - this culminates with Him saying, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you cannot have eternal life within you.” After hearing this teaching, many disciples walked away.

We have the benefit of hindsight and understand that Jesus is not being literal. He describes Himself as the living water and the bread of life. This passage is about fully committing to Him and allowing Him to give us what we need.

Your baptism was a symbol that you are fully committed to Jesus Christ. Now that some time has passed - have you renewed your commitment to Him today? It should be a daily affirmation that Jesus Christ is our Lord.
