During this devotional, we read through 1 John, 2 John, and 3 John to help us become more like Jesus. In our readings today, we will see that if we are to become more like Jesus, we need to stay connected to Him (John 15), love as He loved (1 John 4), live according to His teachings (2 John 1) and choose to do what is right (3 John 1).

As we look at how those books tie together, we see that there is an expectation of action when we are connected to Jesus. Our relationship with God began with action. The first action was from God to us: Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. The second action is to go from us to Him, accepting His gift of salvation. From that moment on, we were justified by Him.

But the process of becoming like Jesus requires action. Sanctification is not a one-time occurrence; it is a process. You are called to take up your cross and follow Him daily. Every moment of every day is an opportunity to become more like Jesus Christ.
