This week, we're talking about belonging. What does this passage tell us about Jesus' perspective on who belongs?

SO WHAT? Why does it matter?

• Where do you see yourself in this story?
• Why do you think the disciples tried to keep the children away from Jesus? What groups of people do you often see excluded today?

NOW WHAT? What should I do about it?

• Have you ever felt rejected by people who claim to follow Jesus? What was that like?
• What does it mean to you that Jesus defends you against those who might want to exclude you? How does that impact your connection with him?
• Who's someone who might need encouragement to feel like they belong? What's something you can do to welcome them into your faith community this week?
