In the Valleys

Father, the greatest fear I have is of what other men think of me or could do to me. Sometimes, my life and thoughts are caught up with how to be ready to fight, avenge, or alleviate what I may experience from them.

I have enemies I have not even met and others who are real. But you call me to be led by you, and I want to trust in you more than my planning or my hand. Give me the strength to lean upon you and not rely on myself. You never leave my side, Jesus. Even when I fail, your forgiveness, love, and mercy are with me.

Your heart is for me when my heart is turned from you. Because of this, I am drawn back to you. It is your kindness that leads me to repentance. I find peace in your presence and protection when I shelter in you.
