To Save America: The Ten CommandmentsSample

The Sabbath is a gift. It is a gift of time to put down the burden of the plow and raise your hands to Heaven. It is God’s day, all day, and if you will honor God with this one day of your week, you will see His hand on the rest of them.
It is time we remember the Sabbath. And remember that it is not for God's benefit; it's for your benefit and mine. Jesus said, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath" (Mark 2:27, ESV). It is a gift from Heaven. And when we remember it, we find new strength for the week.
The word Sabbath means a time to rest. It is a time to stop and re-create. The Sabbath did not begin with the Ten Commandments. It began at creation. God Almighty worked six days. At the end of those six days, He rested. But God did not rest because He was tired. Remember that the prophet Isaiah said that God never grows tired or weary (Isaiah 40:28).
Rather, God rested as an example for all of humanity. He modeled a divine pattern for how we should live. The Sabbath gives supernatural strength to the body and the mind. God knows what is best for your body. After all, He engineered both it and your brain. If you observe one day of rest in every seven, your body will have the capacity to reach its peak performance.
If you need more strength and power in your life, draw near to God. Psalm 62:11 says, “God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God” (NKJV). Power belongs to God. Strength belongs to God. You can get more physical, emotional, and spiritual strength at church in the presence of the Lord than in any other place on the planet!
