God Calls You to Climb the Mountain

DAY 4 OF 6

The Third Time God Speaks to Abram

The third time God speaks to Abram is during a moment of deep reflection, and perhaps even discouragement. In Genesis 15:1-6, God appears to Abram in a vision and says, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward." However, Abram questions God's promise, as he still has no children and fears that his servant Eliezer will inherit all he possesses.

God then takes Abram outside the tent and shows him the stars in the sky, telling him that his offspring will be as numerous as the stars. Here, God not only reaffirms His promise but also expands it, giving Abram a visual representation he could hold onto in his heart. Abram believed the Lord, and it was credited to him as righteousness.

This third interaction between God and Abram shows us that God understands our weaknesses and doubts. He does not become angry when we question or feel insecure. Instead, He reinforces His word, giving us a clearer vision of His promises. Just as He did with Abram, God is willing to lead us out of our "limited tents" of doubt and fear, showing us the vastness of His promises.

Reflection Question:

In what areas of your life do you need God to reinforce His promises? How can you seek that confirmation through prayer and meditation on God's Word?

About this Plan

God Calls You to Climb the Mountain

Abraham was called to leave his land and trust in God's promises, even when everything seemed uncertain. His faith was tested, and he climbed the mountain with his son, believing in divine provision. God also calls us to journeys of faith and trust, where only He and we walk together. Trust in His promise.
