Key 2: Be the difference

As a disciple of Jesus, you are called to be a witness (Acts 1:8). When you hear the word ‘witness,’ you may think of telling of Jesus. That is correct. But a witness doesn’t just tell about Jesus and what He has done for him or her. A witness also shows that with his or her way of walk.

What about you?

How do you act in your daily life?

Are you a light in the darkness, and do you bring joy and happiness wherever you go?

Or do you react to situations in the same way your unrepented neighbor does?

It is incredibly important to be aware of who you are and Who you represent. You are a child of God, a witness of King Jesus. Act accordingly, in your appearance, in your attitude, and in your reaction. Always and everywhere.

So witnessing you do with deeds, but also with words. Verbally witnessing about Jesus is the most well-known kind of witnessing. In that, you may also make a difference.

When you get into a conversation with people there is always a way to quickly bring the conversation to the faith, to Jesus. Just tell them what God has done in your life. Be full and joyful when you speak about Him. Show the people that it is real to you. By your personal testimony, you share the true gospel with them.

What you should never do is shove it down their throat and beat them down with Bible verses.You should also not preach hell and condemnation, judgment, and wrath. Instead, you point them to the love and the grace of the Lord Jesus (Romans 2:4). To everything that He has fulfilled and that He wants nothing other than that everyone comes to Him.

You point them to the fact that God doesn’t judge and doesn’t reject, but that He forgives and restores. And that He loves them unconditionally, no matter where they stand in life (1 John 4:8).

Soon, when they have made a choice, God will go His way with them and everything will land on its feet.

With you, everything has also worked out, right?

So just love and be the difference. Then, you will be a magnet for His Kingdom.
