Before Disaster Strikes: Hearing God’s Warnings EarlySample
Day 1: God’s Warnings Often Come Before the Crisis
In today’s reading, Balaam sets out on a dangerous journey, ignoring God’s warning not to curse Israel. His donkey, however, sees an angel of the Lord blocking the way, while Balaam remains spiritually blind. God had already warned Balaam, but his greed and personal ambitions made him deaf to God’s guidance.
The key lesson here is that God often sends us warnings long before we reach a crisis point. Sometimes, those warnings may come through unexpected situations or people. In Balaam’s case, it was his donkey—a humble and unlikely source. Are you missing the signs God is placing in your path? Is there something in your life God is trying to warn you about?
Reflection Question:
Are there warnings God has been sending you that you might be overlooking because they come through unexpected people or situations?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to be sensitive to Your voice and the signs You are sending my way. Give me the discernment to recognize Your guidance and the courage to follow it. Amen.
