Finding the Real Jesus in the Music of ChristmasSample

Carol of the Bells
Unlike our previous song centered around bells, “Carol of the Bells” is light-hearted throughout the song. How can you not feel lighthearted when you get to sing bell sounds right from the beginning? The adjectives used to describe the bells lift our spirits and bring a lightness to this song. Sweat silver bells, joyful ringing, gaily ringing. These bells are demanding we feel good about the holiday season! They remind us we can throw our cares away and be of good cheer!
But why do we get this extraordinary opportunity? Because Christmas is here. The best reason to tell a tale over Hill and Dale is the birth of Christ! Which is, of course, Christmas.
Not only are the bells to tell their tale, but we are as well. We are to tell how Jesus, through His incarnate birth, death, and resurrection, changed our lives. We are to fill the air with God’s greatness, mercy, and peace. We must let people know this great news applies to everyone – young and old, meek and bold. Anyone who chooses to follow Jesus can throw their cares upon Him and be of good cheer all year long!

About this Plan

It is easy to get caught up in all that the Christmas season offers. All the activities, celebrations, and tasks - even the good things - can overshadow Christmas' true meaning. This devotional will take the wonderful music of the season and use it to point back to the real meaning, the real Jesus.
