This verse is more than a declaration of Jesus’ Victory—it’s a promise of Freedom for your life today. Jesus didn’t just come to Earth to deal with the works of the devil on a cosmic level; He came to destroy every chain, every lie, and every stronghold in your personal life. This Truth isn’t reserved for a future in Heaven—it’s for the here and now.

But let’s be honest: knowing this Truth doesn’t automatically mean we walk in it. Many of us know about the Victory Jesus won but struggle to enforce it. We may find ourselves frustrated, feeling powerless to break free from sin, fear, or other strongholds.

This is because destroying the works of the devil requires more than knowledge—it requires Power. Jesus didn’t just come to teach or inspire us; He came to empower us with His Spirit. The Holy Spirit brings the Power we need to enforce the Victory Jesus already won. Without this Power, we’re left with knowledge but no ability to act, which leads to frustration and a sense of defeat.

But the good news is, this Power is available to every believer. When we align our lives with the Truth of God’s Word and allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through us, we can destroy the works of the devil in our lives—not by our might, but by His Spirit.
