Lent: The Journey of Letting GoSample

Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

DAY 10 OF 40

Week 2: Trusting God’s Guidance in Uncertainty

Theme: Living in God’s Kingdom means embracing a love and faith that often defy our expectations, inviting us to sacrifice, trust, and grow in humility.

Focus Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.”

Connect: Have you ever had a disagreement that left you feeling angry or hurt? Sometimes pride can keep us from admitting when we’re wrong or seeking reconciliation. But Jesus teaches that healing broken relationships is more important than trying to prove we’re right. What if God is inviting you to let go of pride and pursue peace instead?

Engage: Jesus calls us to reconcile with others before offering our gifts to God. Surrendering pride means prioritizing relationships and humility over being right. Jesus reminds us that our inner thoughts and feelings need to be tended and healed. We cannot hold anger inside and expect it to not impact our lives with God and other people. Forgiveness can be one of the greatest acts of humility that we take towards others and can set us free in ways we may not even expect.

Apply: Reflect on where it is easiest for you to allow pride to control your actions. Ask God for the gentle grace to see what you may need to surrender to God.

About this Plan

Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

Lent begins with a call to release control and embrace surrender. By letting go of the burdens we carry, we create space for God’s grace to bring renewal and transformation. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
