City Lights Church Fast_2025Sample

Day 2: Preparing for God’s Amazing Work
Read: Joshua 3:1-8
Scripture Focus: Joshua 3:5 - “Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.’”
Devotional:
Before crossing the Jordan, the Israelites were called to consecrate themselves. This was an act of spiritual preparation—setting themselves apart to be holy before the Lord. God’s Amazing Work required their hearts to be ready.
During this fast, we are called to consecrate ourselves too. This means examining our hearts, confessing sins, and committing to walk in obedience. As we prepare spiritually, we align ourselves with God’s Purposes, creating room for Him to do extraordinary things in and through us.
Prayer Points:
- Pray for personal growth in the Holy Spirit and a deeper relationship with God.
- Pray for singles, marriages, and families in our church to be strengthened and consecrated for God’s Glory.
- Pray for the different ministries at City Lights: Business Forum, Honour Ladies, Valour Men, History Makers, City Lights Youth, Community Groups, Interest Groups, and Little Lights.

About this Plan

It's time for our annual church fast, as we unite as a community to seek God together. Throughout this time, we're intentionally engaging with the Holy Spirit, and seeking His Guidance and Presence in our daily lives. Join us as we engage in a three-day liquid fast from 27-29 January. This involves abstaining from solid foods (if it's medically suitable for you) to focus on prayer, and creating room to hear from God.
