Acts - Until Everyone KnowsSample

Acts 15
A dispute arose when certain men from Judea insisted that full Salvation required observing the Law of Moses - in this case, through circumcision. Paul and Barnabas travelled to Jerusalem and spoke to the apostles so they could determine what was right. Peter, supported by James, agreed that Salvation comes by Grace, not simply by observation of the Law. Since even the Jews struggled to uphold the Law, it would be unfair to impose it on Gentiles.
They decided not to burden these new believers with Jewish customs but urged them to abstain from immorality, idolatry, and consuming meat with blood. A letter was sent to the churches, which brought immense joy. Later, a disagreement divided Paul and Barnabas over whether or not to include John Mark in their next mission. This resulted in them going separate ways.
Are you relying completely on the Grace that comes through faith in Christ Jesus, rather than on your own works (Ephesians 2:8)? During His Ministry, Jesus repeatedly challenged the religious leaders for prioritising human traditions over God's Commands. They meticulously tithed their spices yet neglected the bigger matters of justice, mercy, and faithfulness (Matthew 23:23).
God's Greatest Command is for you to love Him first and to love your neighbors as yourself. These Great Commandments matter more than any church custom or personal preference.
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Hand of Grace over my life. If the evil one tries to cause division, I trust You to work when I humble myself before You and others. Grant me the Wisdom to understand where I need to surrender my desires and when I need to stand firm. Amen.

About this Plan

In Acts, we read about the Early Church taking its first steps to go out to the nations. This happened because ordinary people were filled with the Holy Spirit, enabling them to share the Good News of Jesus and bring healing and freedom. God has designed you to walk in the same Power today! As you learn from this Book, one chapter a day, and read the Devotional, consider this question: How can I step out more to share the Good News of Jesus in the Power of the Holy Spirit?
